Johan Victor’s journey to founding Johan Victor Attorneys & Litigators is anything but conventional. His career path reflects grit, reinvention and a relentless pursuit of justice, qualities that now define the firm’s fearless identity.
Before stepping into the courtroom, Johan built and revived businesses across industries: advertising, printing, communications, manufacturing and even boutique wine farming. From rescuing struggling companies in Namibia to managing corporate identity for Massey Ferguson SA, he honed skills in finance, PR, project management and turnaround strategies. These experiences gave him a rare, 360-degree view of how businesses operate and how they falter.
In 2004, Johan formalised his passion for justice by studying law at Stellenbosch University, specialising in corporate law, turnaround situations, tax and forensic investigations. His legal training was not an escape from his entrepreneurial past, but a natural evolution: the law became the arena where his troubleshooting instincts and business acumen could deliver real impact.
Today, Johan is more than an attorney. He is a corporate law activist, a robust litigator and trial strategist who thrives in high-stakes disputes. His expertise notably spans shareholder conflicts, business rescues, liquidations, property syndication schemes, consumer protection, and regulatory matters under the National Credit Act (NCA), the Rental Housing Act, NHBRC, and the FAIS Ombudsman.
What sets Johan apart is not only his technical mastery, but also his philosophy: litigation should serve outcomes, not egos. He rejects time-wasting technicalities in favour of solutions that resolve disputes and restore dignity. His varied career has taught him that behind every case lies a human challenge, whether it’s a family navigating a multimillion-rand divorce or a company fighting for survival.
Founding JVA Law was the culmination of this journey: a firm built on grit, humanity and fearless advocacy. Johan Victor is the driving force behind Johan Victor Attorneys & Litigators, a firm renowned for fearless advocacy and pragmatic solutions in complex corporate disputes. As founder and principal, Johan embodies the dual role of strategist and litigator, combining sharp courtroom skills with a results-driven philosophy that rejects time-wasting technicalities in favour of meaningful outcomes.

Beyond the law, Johan finds rhythm and release in cycling — his biggest passion outside the courtroom. He also enjoys the craft and creativity of woodwork, a pursuit that has long been a source of inspiration and balance in his life.
Chelsea Wolffs
Senior Associate
Chelsea’s dedication to the law shines through every case she handles. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2017, she has cultivated a dynamic skill set covering the spectrum from contract drafting and litigation to strategic legal advice. In 2019, Chelsea was admitted as an attorney, after which she quickly made a name for herself in both commercial and family law.
At JVA, Chelsea draws on her extensive experience to provide clear, practical legal solutions. She takes pride in her ability to manage intricate legal processes while maintaining a personal touch. Driven by a passion for justice and a belief in the importance of attention to detail, she continues to inspire those around her, proving that the law is not just a profession, but a means of positively impacting people’s lives.
Heather Ahlschlager
Specialist Forensic Lawyer
At Johan Victor Attorneys & Litigators, our mission is to confront corruption head-on and ensure accountability at every level. We are proud to welcome Heather Ahlschlager, a forensic lawyer with nearly three decades of expertise defined by precision, integrity, and dedication to justice.
Heather’s speciality lies in the meticulous legal work that transforms investigations into successful outcomes. She excels at drafting charge sheets, particulars of claims, and applications that ensure evidence withstands scrutiny and secures favourable judgments. She is equally adept at guiding disciplinary hearings involving fraud or theft, ensuring proceedings are legally sound and strategically aligned.
With 25 years at South Africa’s Special Investigating Unit (SIU), culminating as principal forensic lawyer, Heather has led complex investigations into fraud, theft, and corruption across state institutions. Her expertise spans civil recoveries, commercial crime, and forensic litigation strategy, supported by academic distinction in Corruption and Governance (University of Sussex). Her appointment strengthens Johan Victor Attorneys & Litigators’s capacity to convert investigative findings into actionable legal outcomes, reinforcing our commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance.
Ammaarah Orie
Associate Attorney
Ammaarah Orie brings a disciplined, strategic approach to her practice, shaped by her dual experience in law and public administration. While earning her LLB at UNISA, she served as an Executive Assistant to a Deputy Director General in the Western Cape Government, gaining valuable insights into governance and policy. Admitted as an attorney in 2025, she now focuses on civil litigation, commercial disputes, insolvency, and family law.
Teneal Grobler

Teneal approaches law with clarity, precision, and a deep sense of responsibility. She graduated with distinction in her LLB from IIE Varsity College in 2023 and completed her LLM at the University of Cape Town in 2024. Known for her thoughtful, detail-oriented style, she values client trust and applies careful analysis to every matter.
Jaco Mulder

Jaco combines strong advocacy skills with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients. He completed his BA degree in Law and Politics at North-West University in 2022 and his LLB in 2024. With his advanced oral advocacy and quick thinking, Jaco is well-suited to litigation, approaching each matter with diligence and professionalism.
Alexia Basson

Alexia Basson views law as a bridge between theory and practice, combining academic excellence with leadership. She earned her LLB at Akademia and co-founded the Law Faculty Society (Pontium), advancing initiatives such as moot court competitions and mentorship programmes. Since 2022, she has gained litigation experience at Johan Victor Attorneys & Litigators, assisting with research, consultations, and trial preparation.
